American Goldfinch birds in the yard eating dandelion seeds. They picked a great yard to visit has we have a bountiful variety of dandelions to feast on. The bird's scientific name is Spinus tristis.

American Crow

While at school sometimes my computer is next to a window that looks out over a pond. A number of birds land there from time to time. When I have my camera I try to get some pictures. I wish I could catch pictures of some off the geese and ducks landing on the water.

I did get a picture of an American Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos) that landed near the window. They are intelligent birds and before I could take some more pictures my flash popped up on the camera and startled the crow into flying off. The only picture I got was taken from about 3 feet (1 meter) away. Picture taken in New Albany, Indiana.
